String FeverEarly childhood efforts beign with "String Fever," an interactive demonstration for stringed instruments and classical music for elementary students. Students are taken on a musical journey by showing the connection of music to other areas of study while coming to the conclusion that music is something more, something special: a wonderful way to express the emotions and explore the imagination. Connections are discovered between music and their various school subjects with interactive musical examples that include the following: Science and Nature – Spring from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons Movement and Dance – Hoedown from Aaron Copland's Rodeo Geography – Tchaikovsky's Arabian Dance from the Nutcracker Reading/Story Telling – The Theme from Harry Potter by John Williams "String Fever" is presented through the roster of Young Audiences of Massachusetts the only statewide arts organization for children, funded in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Please contact us at (617) 566-0430 to request how "String Fever" can perform at your school or for your group of children.
